meiotic's MATTHEW MARTIN and AUDIOPHILE drop by big wig for some cool music. matt's set opening for derrick may at smart bar was proper - amazing selection and great presentation while keeping the crowd along for the ride. audiophile also plays from a diverse pool of sounds with a slightly different bent. with resident NATHAN BALLARD.

m5 returns with another multimedia event called sonoscape, in the style for which they are known. video, music, and an overall environment are assembled, which results in a museum/gallery effect, but with a more social atmosphere. like a more intimate mca summer solstice before it got big/got sabotaged. collaborators include the consumers research and development label.

STEWART WALKER @ empty bottle

STEWART WALKER returns to the empty bottle for a live PA. he's been around the world and back, and his sets have spanned the range from the deep dubbiness of his 'stabiles' release to harder, more energetic techno sounds presented with enthusiasm. if past performances are any indication, i don't expect to see the standard subdued mouse clicking here.

but then again, this is part of a series of events presented by empty bottle and wire magazine, entitled 'Adventures in Modern Music', and so will also entail several other bands that may or may not be to your liking, including CALIFONE, LIGHTNING BOLT, and TEXT OF LIGHT (the last of which will improvise over some films of big-name experimenter STAN BRAKHAGE). diversity is one thing, but smashing such totally unrelated acts together might end up being downright disturbing.
